Central Bedfordshire "Youth Matters" Magazine
A magazine for young people by young people
About "Youth Matters"
The very first issue, originally titled "Youth" was developed by a group of Young People from Sandy and surrounding areas. It was started by Lingani Noah as he wanted to develop a magazine for young people in Central Bedfordshire that talked about issues that are relevant to local young people. A team was soon assembled to create the first issue and together they took the idea of a Youth centred magazine and produced the first issue which covers topics such as: writing a CV, fashion, and teenage pregnancy. It is their hope to continue producing new issues and getting other young people involved in the production too.
Credit for the first issue goes to the following young people: Becca Varley (Editor), Daniel Murphy (Photography), Tegan Garrison (exec. Support), Kai Garrison (exec. Support), and Lingani Noah (writer and editor).
The magazine was later resurrected by Thea Hunt and retitled "Youth Matters". Thea has brought her own style and approach to a youth magazine, but in spite of the difference in appearance the aim of the magazine; "to develop a magazine for young people in Central Bedfordshire that talked about issues that are relevant to local young people" remains the same.
